PAL Norwin has adopted a policy regarding designated coaches and/or volunteers to provide background checks from the Pennsylvania State Police (criminal background check) and the Department of Public Welfare (child abuse history form) in order to be eligible to coach and/or volunteer in the youth sports activities. All head coaches and assistant coaches must have a criminal and child abuse background clearance completed at PAL’s expense, prior to their being accepted as PAL coaches. Eighty-five percent of the time, “No Record” certificates are returned immediately through the Internet to the requestor.
